Land in the real world produces both resources and wealth. Your digital land should too – So we decided to set the standard.

In early 2022, Cardania minted and sold more than 10,000 Terraforms – artful digital lands with myriad biomes, imbued with scifi resources, and other unexplained metadata. The Terraforms quickly sold out and rocketed Cardania to a top project on the Cardano blockchain.

One of the most groundbreaking aspects of Cardania’s lands was published recently with the “Living Lands” system, deployed in early 2022. The design is a first-of-its-kind in that it elegantly ties the performance of the project’s stakepool (SUMN) with the hard-coded power level of Cardania’s digital lands, otherwise known as “Terraforms”.

Version 1 of this system allows holders of Terraforms to harvest RAD tokens every epoch. Users harvest a variable amount of RAD, depending how many ADA blocks were produced by SUMN. Upcoming updates will also allow users to harvest on-chain resources produced by these lands and eventually build + craft with them (more on that below!).
On the blockchain industry side of things, the Living Lands formula is absolutely unique and pioneering. By tying in the performance of a stakepool with the unique traits of an NFT, this functionality creates an elegant 3d economic object that is REACTIVE to both the blockchain on which it lives and the community that interacts with it. It’s very weird and very awesome. We expect more projects will adopt and evolve this standard over time.

The team has templated an allocation of RAD tokens in excess of 10B for distribution via Terraforms, which are expected to last more than 30 years, minimum.
